NOTICE TO BIDDERS

Village of Evansville - Broad Street Pavement Reconstruction

The Kaskaskia Regional Port District (KRPD) will receive sealed bids for the construction of Village of Evansville - Broad Street Pavement Reconstruction until 9:00 a.m. on July 29, 2024, at their office located at 336 North Main St., Red Bud, IL 62278, and then at said office, publicly opened and read aloud.   

The proposed improvement consists of the removal of 1,651 square yards of aggregate/HMA roadway, replacement with PCC (jointed) pavement, and all other miscellaneous work necessary to complete reconstruction along Broad St. between Walnut St. and Maple St. in the Village of Evansville.

Copies of the CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may be obtained at the office of Volkert, Inc. located at 4 Industrial Drive, Freeburg, Illinois 62243 or electronically by contacting Mark Rujawitz, P.E. (618)363-3763 at mark.rujawitz@volkert.com.  The CONTRACT DOCUMENTS may also be examined at the following location: Southern Illinois Builders Association (SIBA),1468 Green Mount Road, O’Fallon, IL 62269.

No less than the prevailing wage rates, as determined by the Illinois Department of Labor, shall be paid to all laborers, operators, teamsters, masons, and any workmen employed in construction on this project.  All work shall be performed in accordance with the IDOT “Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction”, latest edition and the proposal documents as prepared by Volkert, Inc.

All proposals must be accompanied by a bid bond on the form contained in the proposal, bank cashier's check, bank draft, or certified check, payable to the Kaskaskia Regional Port District, for not less than five percent (5%) of the amount of the bid.

KRPD reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids and to waive any informality in any bid should it consider the same to be in its best interest.  Bids may not be withdrawn for a period of ninety (90) days after the bid opening.
